Winter Sports
Telemark is the birthplace of modern skiing, and the winter landscape here is magical. In the winter, you can go cross-country skiing, sledging (right outside the house), and ski touring. The nearest ski resort is 1 hour away.
Summer sports
The area is lovely for cycling, fishing & hunting (with a permit), walking and swimming. There is a lake right at the farm, lots of beautiful lakes nearby. Bike rentals are available upon request.
Hike on Gjuvdhovd
Gjuvhovd is a very popular tour and is especially child friendly. The tour starts at Gjuvså in Tinn Austbygd and takes
about half an hour one way. At the top you will find a great viewpoint with fantastic views over Lake
Tinnsjö and Gaustatoppen.
Apparently along the route, many nice trolls are placed so that the children can count how many they find.
Røyslandsbergo
Røyslandsbergo is shiny mountains that many people use as bathing and sunbathing in the summer. Here you will find natural
slides in the rock and giant pots.
Directions
About 25 km from Rjukan city center is Atrå. From Rv 364 take the Atrå Church, follow the signs towards Gøystdalen and Røyslandsbergo.
Gaustatoppen
Gaustatoppen rises majestically over Rjukan in Telemark, with its 1883 meters over sea level. The top is easily accessible and easily climbed, but despite this, offers southern Norway`s longest view. On a clear day, you can see approximately one-sixth of Norway.
Dusanfossen
A beautiful waterfall with opportunities for swimming and fishing. The trip from the nearest parking spot is approximately half an hour each way. The path ends about 200 meters before the waterfall. You can easily find it by following the sound of falling water.
