Traditional log cabin (Sølset sæter) in remote mountains with stunning views. The cabin is located 839 metres above sea level and on a clear day, you can even see as far as Hardangervidda National Park. In the past, it has been a popular place for those who like to fish or hunt.

The Rooms & Layout
  • Living Lounge: Warm wood interior, seating and a wood-burning stove.
  • Bedroom space: 4 beds (total for 5 guests). Bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag.
  • Kitchen space: Well-equipped. There is no running water, take it with you. You can also source it from a nearby spring - there is also a filter, but it works very slowly.
  • Bathroom A dry toilet (no running water).

How to Get Here

The Remote Cabin offers complete forest insulation. A refreshing hike is part of the off-the-grid mountain journey. You will get directions how to get there when you book.

Summer Access: Park at the main farmstead clearing and enjoy a scenic 45-minute trail walk through old-growth pine directly to your cabin doorstep.

Winter Access: When snow sets in across Telemark, access is via cross-country skis or snowshoes.
